The General Collection consists/comprises of books in various subjects and areas covering all the disciplines of the University’s academic and research programmes. The collection is loanable for 14 days and located at the Ground of the library.
The Reference Collection comprises of : encyclopedias, dictionaries, yearbooks, atlases, almanacs, etc.
This collection is available for short term loan (2 days) if there is more than one copy of the reference book.
This collection is located in the first floor of the library. It covers a range of topics about Brunei, written or published by Bruneian. The collection is available for short term loan (3 days) if there is more than one copy of the title.
The UNISSA Archive Collection consists of materials related to the history and development of UNISSA since it’s establishment in 2007. It contains books published by the university, newspaper cutting and UNISSA's Press Releases in local newspapers, conference/seminar paper produced by the academics as well as other materials which have esthetical value to the university. This collection is not only for preservation but also to fulfill the reference and research needs of the users. This collection is placed at first floor of the library. This collection is loanable for short term loan (3 days) for certain materials except for the first copy.
The Special Collection is a collection on specific subjects that are considered ‘Unique’ to the University. These collection located at the basement of the library
MADZHAB SYAFIE COLLECTION
This is collection of books and reference materials pertaining to Madzhab Syafie. It supports the teaching, learning and research of The Centre of Madzhab Syafie. This Collection can be loaned for 14 days.
This collection is located at the ground floor of the library. It contains materials contributed in a large number of titles by high commissioners of other countries in Brunei Darussalam such as Oman and Pakistan. Most of the donated materials related to the history of the perspective country and have their own uniqueness and significance for research.
This collection comprises of materials donated by individual in a vast quantity. It is considered as rich and valuable collection as most of them donated by a significant individual such as:-

This collection are not loanable, it can be accessed only within library area.
Theses Collection consists of Degree, Master and PhD theses produced by UNISSA’s student and some acquired Non-UNISSA theses. Print copies are kept under controlled access and available upon request. This collection can only be used within the library area. The full text of selected theses can be viewed from the Digital Library Collection.
Journal Collection is placed at the first floor of the library. The Collection consists of current and bound journal in various disciplines relevant to academics and research of the University. This collection is not for loan and to be used only within the library premise.
EXAMINATION PAPERS COLLECTION
UNISSA’s Examination Papers have been collected by the Library since 2007. The Collection contains UNISSA’s past examination papers in various subject taught by the University. Print copies can be found in UNISSA Archive and can only be used within the library area. It can be photocopied if required and it also can be viewed from the Digital Library Collection.
Restricted Collection is made up of materials that are considered by the University as containing sensitive information. This is a closed-access collection and for reference only. To have access to the materials, users must have a recommendation letter from their Heads of Department and permission from the Chief Librarian.
The Library provides daily local newspaper such as Pelita Brunei, Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata, and some international newspapers such as Berita Harian, News Straits Times, Utusan Malaysia, Straits Singapore and The Borneo Post.
These newspaper can only be read within Newspaper area which is located at the First Floor of the Library and should not be taken out of the Library.
