Preface

Nowadays some nations experience hardship in life. They are trapped: on the one hand they wish to keep hope and strive to attain prosperity, while on the other hand there are forces that aim to deny them the achievement of stability, goodwill and prosperity.  Some nations are threatened with wars that, if these are not resolved wisely, will result in devastation. In addition there are many people living an unstable life because they have no social peace, freedom and economic prosperity. They feel insecure, live in poverty and fear for their source of income and violation of human rights. At the same time, some societies have no peace of mind or political stability. As a result, riots erupt as a way for people to express their disappointment with such a life without prosperity and peace. This seminar is organised to analyse the concept of peace from different perspectives, as well as ways of achieving peace among human beings and whether we are satisfied with the current level of peace.
