Muslim Administration of Dagestan delegation visit to UNISSA strengthens ties
IN AN effort to expand cooperation internationally, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) recently received a delegation from the Muslim Administration of Dagestan.
The delegation was welcomed by UNISSA Rector, Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal.
Leading the delegation from the Muslim Administration of Dagestan was Dr Shihabudin Guseynov, Chairman of Foreign Relation cum Deputy Mufti of the Republic of Dagestan.
He was accompanied by Kebedov Izrail Khabibovich, coordinating council member and co-operation with the National Association of the Russian Federation and Overseas, and Iusup Abdul Muslimov, President of Dagestan Islamic University.
The visit from the Dagestan, Russia delegation is on the initiative of the relevant parties to know more about the development of Islam in Brunei Darussalam, especially in the field of education conducted at UNISSA.

Although Dagestan and Brunei are far from each other geographically, their beliefs and Aqidah are the same as of Ahli Sunnah Wal-Jama’ah.
Dr Haji Norarfan said UNISSA has so far signed six Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with institutions of higher learning in Russia.
He hoped that with the signing of these MoUs, it will strengthen the linkages of strategic cooperation through the exchange of students or academic staff and be able to handle seminar programmes and more.
Also present were Deputy Rector of UNISSA, Dr Haji Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad, assistant rector and several UNISSA principal officers.
