UNISSA hosts dinner for 47 graduates

FORTY-SEVEN graduates from Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) were honoured with medals during a graduation dinner held at the Tarindak Hall of the Brunei Arts and Handicraft Training Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan in conjunction with the 7th Convocation of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA).

Assistant Rector of UNISSA Dr Arman bin Haji Asmad in his welcoming speech spoke about the active collaboration between UNISSA and six foreign universities in research, publications, student exchanges, community service and many other fields.

Minister of Education Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, in his capacity as the guest of honour, presented the awards to the 47 graduates.

The event also witnessed the signing of five Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) to commemorate the relationship between UNISSA and the Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, University of Holy Quran and Islamic Sciences Sudan, Universitas Ibnu Khaldun Bogor, Indonesia, Osaka University, Japan, Universitas Islam Negeri Sharif Hidayatullah Jakarta, as well as a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Pusat Kajian Pengurusan Pembangunan Islam (ISDEV), Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Signing the MoUs were the rectors of the six universities and the Rector of UNISSA Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal.

Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi witnessed the signing in his capacity as the chairman of the event.
