UNISSA lauds Oman Embassy

AMBASSADOR of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel bin Rashed bin Hashel Al-Maskari recently met Dr Siti Sara binti Haji Ahmad, Dean of Faculty of Arabic Language at Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and eight UNISSA students at the Embassy of Oman in Brunei Darussalam building.
Four of the eight students were sent to study for one academic year at the College of Arts and Social Sciences of Sultan Qaboos University in Oman from September 2016 until May 2017. The other four students are to study in the university starting this September.
The ambassador welcomed the visitors and wished them best of luck in their pursuit of knowledge towards contributing to the advancement of their nation and society. He also highlighted the importance of taking advantage of educational exchange programmes which can hone their abilities and skills, while at the same time strengthening bilateral relations between countries.
Meanwhile, Dr Siti Sara extended her gratitude to the management of Sultan Qaboos University for actively monitoring the UNISSA students’ progress and helping them cope with the challenges they faced throughout their studies in Oman.
She also pointed out that the students benefited greatly from the experience which helps develop their language skills, especially in speaking, which positively reflects their educational attainment. She also lauded the embassy’s efforts in coordinating with authorities to facilitate further cultural and academic exchanges towards enhancing the existing relations between Brunei Darussalam and Oman.

She expressed hope for further cooperation between UNISSA and its Oman counterparts, in the field of student and academic staff exchange, in line with both parties’ mutual interests.
The students also extended their gratitude for the reception and hospitality they received throughout their time in the Sultanate of Oman.
They also expressed their admiration of the cultural diversity on display at the Sultan Qaboos University, and praised the patriotism of the Omani students in showcasing their diverse traditions while participating in cultural activities within the university. They also said they were in awe of the historical sites, tourist attractions and monuments in Oman.
