UNIVERSITI Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) through the Faculty of Arabic Language (FBA) launched the ‘Arabic Language Conversation for Haj-Umrah-Ziarah’ guide book at the university in Gadong yesterday.

The guest of honour, the Rector of UNISSA Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, launched the guide book. Also present were the Dean of FBA as chairman of the event, senior officers of UNISSA as well as guests from various governmental agencies and departments handling matters regarding the Haj and Umrah.

The guide book aims to assist Haj and Umrah pilgrims as well as those intending to visit Makkah Mukarramah and Madinah Al-Munawarah in communicating in Arabic. The book also contains prayers and glossaries for reference. A Malay translation is included.

To assist the pilgrims in using the guide book, a programme was also launched yesterday.

The guide book comes in two versions – a normal version and a hardcover version – and is available at the UNISSA Press bookstore.
